What Did I THINK to Deserve This?

Bad things happen to people in general. That’s simply the truth and everyone knows it. We usually think to ourselves, “What did I DO to deserve this?” You will go over your actions and your character… “I’m a good person, I’ve never DONE anything to anyone.” But how many people actually stop and wonder to themselves, “What did I THINK to deserve this?”  After all, you are what you think and you have what you thought!

When we realize this power, you are on a  journey of self awareness. It’s when you are aware, when you are your strongest! When things you don’t want to happen, happens anyway, the question should be asked, “What did I think to attract this event or action?” Go within, because that’s where all your answers are.

Sounds crazy? But is it really? I was raised by a single mother who could always see the negative side of anything. She always thought something bad was going to happen and that she received the short end of the stick. At the end, she did receive the short end of the stick. What was she thinking?

Negative Thoughts/Negative Results

Her line of thinking was negative and the results were also negative. This line of thinking is detrimental to receiving the things you want out of life. You really are what you think. If the mind can’t see something, or comprehend a thing as being real, it will never become real in the physical. But if what the mind does comprehend is negative, negativity will present itself in the physical, simply because that’s what you were focusing on. Think about it and discover your focus! It may need to be redirected if you aren’t living the life you wish to live.

The Thoughts has It’s Own Channel

What the mind “thinks” is directly connected to the inner voice, that I’m told many no  longer hear. The voice is still there, but most people are tuned into a different channel. Society will have you to look outward for all the answers.  The natural instincts are no longer trusted. It has become natural to run to a doctor, minister, or even google when you have a problem. We allow “Practicing Physicians” to practice at healing every day, when women were the first healers.

Manufactured Thoughts

People are distracted by all the “professionals” that want us to believe that we are not perfect. That our children are not perfect. But there are drugs to help you become “better”, there’s a procedure to fix what isn’t perfect, and a shop that will take care of everything else.  All the while our young people are getting the message that without “help” they are not good enough.

Women should be the first teachers. But we’ve allowed our daughters to believe that the only thing they have going for them is beauty. Oh! And that beauty must be manufactured! I witnessed a 6 year old having a fit because she couldn’t go to the nail shop. What messages are we really sending?

Conditioning Robs Us Of Free Thinkers

Conditioning is defined as to adapt, modify, or mold so as to conform to an environing culture. Society has been conditioned to believe the “experts” even when it just doesn’t add up. Mainstream society want’s women to believe that they know better than us how to raise our children, what to feed them, how to deal with our relationships and everything else.  There’s always a book or some new philosophy being pushed. When we allow others to dictate what is normal and natural we deny ourselves the ability to grow into who we are because we’ve allowed other to determine our standards. This leads to “Group-Think” of toxic people and relationships. Society needs more free-thinkers!

Well, I’ve decided to push my own philosophy. It’s what I used when I almost “lost” myself, or maybe I should say before I actually “found” myself. Women are pushed to be so many things by society, that we forget to be ourselves. We’ve forgetten to trust ourselves. And they are not alone, by the time most people remember their hopes and dreams, they are often responsible for others and believe that “self” has to be placed on the back burner to make way for “life”! But this didn’t happen without years of conditioning. You were meant to be unique and were given special gifts.

Not only do we become miserable, hard, doubtful but we pass this thinking on to our daughters. And yes, the cycle continues.

I know you want to discontinue this cycle and help your child before this cycle is started.  Remember when you were young and you honestly thought there was nothing you couldn’t do? NOTHING!!! That’s the way our children should feel all the time, that’s the way we should feel.

People ARE Capable

You may not be as young as you were, but I’m here to tell you that there is NOTHING that you can’t do! You are more than capable. But as long as you believe that you can’t live the life you dream about, you will never be the person you were meant to be. When you aren’t being the person you were meant to be, things don’t go the way they should. It’s a natural order to things…and conditioning robs women of everything that is natural to them. There must be a return to the natural order of things. The conditioned must wake up to discover their greatness. How do you do that…. sign up for my mailing list, and I’ll help you.

If you are the same person you were 5 years ago…it’s time for change. If you are struggling in relationships…it’s time for change. If your child believes that they have to own certain labels, to be part of the “in” crowd…it’s time for change.

We weren’t put on this earth to struggle…we are women! Life starts with us and so does it’s restoration! Isn’t it time we restore life?

WOMEN: The Real Crisis In America

(This is a reprint in the process of my combining my blogs into one central location…together they make a whole. KimSyne Godfrey)

The real crisis in America is women. Some people believe that our fore mothers dropped the ball. I say they never had possession!  But we can’t focus on whether the ball was dropped or snatched, time is not waiting on us. There is a crisis brewing in America that no one speaks about. Yeah, the economy stays in the news, but the crisis that I’m referring to is the state of the women.

The real issues surround the women who’ve never known their self-worth. If we really knew our self-worth, would we subject ourselves to bad relationships?  Wouldn’t we raise our daughters to know their self-worth?  We definitely wouldn’t be each others greatest haters!

I thought I was witnessing a waste of potential and lack of interest in advancement, you know believing the hype that the media dishes out.  I realized what I was witnessing was a lack of knowledge coupled with a traumatized mind-set.

When all you know of your ancestors is slavery and America, you begin to believe that becoming a slave was the best thing for you.  African women born in America disassociate themselves from Africa calling themselves  ”American”. And then the “American” society would have these same women believing that they are not good enough, smart enough or pretty enough…eventually the “lies” and “stereotyping” are accepted as truth. The conditioning becomes “free will” when in actuality we have been conditioned to not accept the “African” part of our “African American” culture.

“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”  Marcus Garvey

And we all know that a tree can not flourish without its root. The limbs that do grow become weak and eventually they fall off! HA! Sounds familiar? Exactly! Women are the root of families. When a woman changes her mindset, families are changed forever. Schools, communities and the entire world would be next.

I’ve said it for years now…

It’ll take Women to Change The World!

Think about it…women are mothers. Everyone had a mother at one time, it’s the one thing that everyone shares regardless of color, religion, or whatever differences we may have: A woman gave birth to us all. That in itself is a whole lot of power and responsibility. But most women don’t recognize this attribute because they waste their time on “what isn’t” instead of “what is”!

Society would have us to believe that we are second class citizens. We’ve been reduced to sex objects and are judged by our physical attributes so much that we have become willing victims.

An article in Psychology Today would consider black women to be the least attractive of all the other races of women. The fact that black women are judging themselves and each other by European beauty standards makes me think that just maybe many black women agree with the article. Sure, some of you will scream “FOUL” with this statement…but I say, “look in the mirror and what do you see?” My BigMama used to say, “Look in the mirror, the mirror don’t lie!”

This article was actually more of the same rhetoric to make you believe that you are inferior. If you are constantly shown that you are inferior, you believe that and become conditioned to expect an inferior life. Remember we usually “get” what we “expect”! You begin to “settle” for whatever comes your way. I’m sure we can all think of examples of what happens when women “settle”.

When we settle we cheat the universe of utilizing our strength. I’ve watched potential literally die! I refuse to not offer my potential to the universe.

You are the only YOU in the entire world and no one else can do YOU! When this becomes your truth, you can begin to claim your crown!

Tyler Perry is About Marketing

Tyler Perry has Pissed Women Off

Tyler Perry has upset his fan base to the point that there is talk of boycotting his next movie, “The Marriage Counselor”. Everyone knows that Tyler’s biggest fans are African American women. Apparently African American women are upset at Tyler’s decision to give Kim Kardashian a role in the film.

According to an article written by Dr. Boyce Watkins, of Your Black World, this all started with a comment made by Holly Robinson-Peete. (Remember she’s unemployed since The Talk) According to Dr. Watkins’ article, Mrs. Robinson-Peete told Access Hollywood that black actresses could always count on Tyler Perry for a job. Read Dr. Watkins’ article here.

Tyler Hiring Kim K. is a Money Move

As a subscriber of Tyler Perry, I received the email he sent out addressing the issue. He basically explained that Kim K. had a huge following and that by casting her, he would be accessing an entire new audience. I understand Holly’s problem with Tyler, but I’m not mad at him for getting his hustle on. This is strictly a “money move”.

Tyler Perry Can Play A Women, Just Don’t Hire Kim K.

What I don’t understand is how women (including Holly Robinson-Peete) can be upset with Tyler for casting Kim K. yet they don’t have a problem with a man putting on a dress and playing the part of a woman. I think this speaks volumes about where we are as a community, when a man can play the role of a woman and no one has a problem with it.

Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry can play a woman, just don't hire the wrong woman!

Everyone “loves” Madea! Is there not a black actress that could play Madea? Why is it that people weren’t in an uproar when Tyler put on pads, a dress and a wig? Kim K. can’t be that bad.

Is Tyler Perry The Most Pressing Issue In our Community

What all this has really done is give Tyler Perry free advertisment for a film that hasn’t been released, provided Kim K. even more attention and successfully make it appear that black women care more about the media than what’s going on in their own back yards. Talk about being used!

Journey to Freedom…Go Backwards!

I am at such a good place right now. If you’ve read my blog in the past, you’re familiar with my problem with fear and my quest for freedom. You’re probably thinking, “You can’t take fear on a journey to freedom.” You’re right! It’s an oxymoron! But stay with me!

I didn’t go forward on my journey to freedom…I went backwards! We can’t determine our destiny without discovering our past.

Fear Equals Frozen Mentality

After writing about my fear, I realized that I wasn’t alone. Fear is a state of mind that leaves one frozen. Mentally frozen. I found plenty of research on fear, but they mostly dealt with symptons and outcomes. I wanted to know the why and where. Why are so many people mentally frozen and calling it fear.

Fear Turns Into Mental Illness

You see, by this point, I’m really thinking that it’s not that simple.  I’ve spoken to many people with different life experiences and there was that universal mental blockage called fear. It may be fear of change, fear of loving someone, fear of committment, fear of success or just fill in the blank but this fear stops advancement in one form or another and it turns into a mental illness. But where does it come from and how is it that so many of us experienced it.

Fear, Mental Blockage & Reality TV

If you watch reality television, you’ve witnessed this mental blockage at work many times and sometime on extreme levels.  What’s going on today is the result of Willie Lynch’s plan to control slaves for generations after generation.  I didn’t realize just how well thought-out the plan was but it is the very foundation of who we believe ourselves to be and the exact reason most will never experience the life they want to live!

“Oh, here she goes!” Yeah, that statement in itself is a sign of Uncle Willie’s conditioning. When you control the mind, there is no need for chains and whips!

fearSo, why am I in such a good place on this rainy day? Because I’m learning that the truth really will set you free! But it has to be YOUR truth. You can’t be free while claiming someone else’s truth! I had to dig deep inside, past what I’ve been taught to do, to a place where I already knew. It’s an ongoing process to break free of Willie Lynch’s plan…but first it has to be acknowledged!

And that’s KimSyne’s View!

Happy Veteran’s Day….Yeah, Whatever!

I find it hard to say Happy Veteran’s Day especially as a DAV.  I look around at the conditions of many of my fellow veterans and the lack of compassion they receive on a daily basis, having a DAY to say thank you is mute! You should keep your thank yous and show respect and honor every day, to veterans and each other.

The county’s leaders forget about the past but then give you a day out of a year to be saluted…and that is all, but not nearly enough.

There should be NO homeless veterans (or people for that matter), no veteran should go without health care, no veteran should be hungry and no veteran should owe student loans.

Show you care where it really matters, not just another day for big corporations to make even more money under the pretense of supporting our veterans and our troops.

This is KimSyne’s View….what’s yours!
